Sask-Can thumps Pembina Valley in showdown

In what was supposed to be a battle between two of the top teams in the tournament, Pembina Valley proved to be no match at all for Sask-Can who went on to win the game 8-2. Pembina Valley will now have to beat Norman Icebears in a early morning semi-final just to have a chance at redemption in the final. The final will take place at 1:45 tomorrow afternoon.

Back to the game tonight though, Cody young had a 6 point night including a 4 goal effort to pace the Sask-Can squad. Young will finish with a tournament leading 7 goals and 10 assists in just 4 games.

In the other Saturday evening game, Norman defeated the Northwest Thrashers 8-2. The Northwest Thrashers finished 0-4 and were outscored 35-12! Aaron Beauchamp continued his strong play with 2 goals and an assist giving him 5 goals and 8 assists in the tournament, finishing only behind Cody Young's 14 point effort.

***Note: Gavin Klassen of Pembina Valley was credited with a goal in the game this evening.
