WEHP Announce Provincial All-star teams

Today, WEHP announce the 3 forwards, 2 defenseman and 1 goaltender who we've decided to name to the provincial all-star teams. We have surveyed players, coaches, GM's, scouts from around western Canada to come up with the list. First up is Manitoba

Hockey Manitoba

F - Adam Brooks - Winnepeg Hawks - He is the cream of the crop offensively in the Winnipeg Bantam Hockey League. Brooks has led his Winnipeg Hawks team to a 16-0-1-1 record while piling up the points. He currently has 34-24-58 in just 18 games. Brooks was also a recent call-up in the Midget league where he scored a goal in his lone game. It will be interesting for everyone to see how Brooks can do against the top Alberta, BC teams in St. Albert.

F- Dallas Miller - Winnipeg Sharks - Although he is born in 1997 and does have a few detractors out there, there is no denying his skill. Dallas has 19 goals this season which rank him 2nd in the league and his 31 points have him in the top 5. Miller is expected to be a high first round selection in the 2012 WHL bantam draft.

F- Jayce Hawryluk - Russell Rams - Although Jayce is playing AA hockey in the Parkisimo Hockey League, there is no denying he has made a huge impact in Manitoba hockey this season. Hawryluk has been averaging over 6 points per game this season. There is a good chance Hawryluk won't crack the first couple rounds of the bantam draft but his showing at the New Years Eve Saskatoon tournament will go a long way to perhaps vaulting him up there.

D- Taylor Fisher - Winnipeg Warriors - Perhaps one of the biggest kids who will be available for the draft in May. Fisher is a 6'1 225lb defenceman who is really starting to iron out his deficiencies in his game and really is becoming a huge force. Fisher leads all defensmean in scoring with 9-19-28 points so far. Fisher is projected by most scouts to be in the first round but some have him a lot lower. Taylor has had a great first half.

D- Jordan Thomson - Southeast Cougars(Midget) - One of the few players to be playing midget hockey this season. Jordan combines size, skill and poise to make him one of the top players available for the WHL draft. Although Jordan has yet to score a goal in Midget hockey this season, he is really starting to adapt and be one of the top defenders on some nights in the league.

G- Kyle McColm - Winnipeg Sharks - When Kyle is in net for the Sharks, he gives his team a chance to win hockey games. Kyle has single handed won games this year for Winnipeg. McColm is still a bit on the small size but we aren't ranking players for the draft in this list, simply stating who the best goalie has been and our vote go's to McColm.

You guys have to get out to some games in Manitoba and stop just looking at the stats page.

how much are their parents paying you guys....stealing games??? give me a break.

So did these kids make the All Star team? Or what? not really understanding this? Or is it just one of those lists?

You people just have to sit back and enjoy what is offered here. I see far too much complaining by arm chair scouts. To say that Brooks, Thomson, Fisher don't deserve to be all-stars is pure crazy.

One of these days, the blog portion will be shut down and all of you will regret it.

I know hey, it is very sad that parents and people are so jealous of these kids and how they can play the sport so well, you would think they would respect them more for being such good hockey players!!! I know I do! I love watching them all play cause they do it so well!!

Agreed!!! Its the B.C and Manitoba parents doin the majority of the complaining. Just enjoy the read and stop whining.

Nobody mentioned any names and nobody was complaining and nobody said they didn't belong. The question was do they ever get out to Wpg to watch any games. You parents see your kids name on some "pay as you go" to rate your kid site and get all excited over nothing. None of us are jealous...we just know better that's all.

Know better how? Cause you got suckered into paying to have your kids name posted online? If your kid is good enough you don't have to pay for nothing to see their name on the sites. Scouts are at ALL Bantam AAA games because they are scouts and that is what they do! Once again, if a kid is good enough they have to learn to deal with parents that think they know everything about the kid, including all the crap they make up and post online thinking it's gonna hurt the kids chance and get their kids a better chance. It's obvious!
If you are paying to view the newsletters well, it would be the same as the Free Press or The sun, you don't get to read those papers for free do you? Only difference is these news letters are hockey related, and if you like hockey enough and have a spare $10, why not? It's a good read..

did you actually read what I posted??I have never paid for any news letter and never will. AGAIN ALL I ASKED WAS IF THEY EVER GET OUT TO WPG TO SEE THEM PLAY?? You have obviously paid for the newsletter because you state that it is a good read"SUCKER" We now who the kids are because we see their parents getting talked to by scouts all the time at GAMES not on PAY TO RATE YOUR KIDS WEBSITES. Get your butt off the couch and the computer and get out to a game. We do.

First of all you are the sucker!! Most scouts don't talk to parents, they talk to the kids. You Manitoba parents make me laugh. LMAO!!!

so that's why you reference the WPG free press and the Wpg Sun cause you ain't from Winnipeg right...sorry bud but it's probably the rink attendant talking to your son LMFAO also I never mentioned Wpg you did so enjoy hockey in your non NHL city gone jets gone...

Lol...too funny. Little kids posting on here! Last post was obviously from a 10 year old. Straight up...if your kid is good enough you don't have to pay NOTHING!! They come looking for you!!!You make it sound like Winnipeg has bad hockey or something...not sure what or why you are talking like that....but it's getting pretty boring.

i like how you all just diss Winnipeg & fyi they were talking this morning on TSN about us getting a NHL team by late October .. so suck it . & Winnipeg has very god hockey programs and resources for the kids who play the sport, our kids are talented enough to get noticed they dont pay to get noticed .

Is that right?? I wonder how many players will come out of Manitoba this year?? Winnipeg will never get an NHL team they are way to cheap. I can say that because i used to live there and know what the people are like. You guys cant even get a WHL team never mind NHL.
