Pre-Holiday news..

My family and I are heading out on a much needed holiday tomorrow for the next 4-5 days. As a result the blog won't be updated during this time. I wish all of you the best of luck in the playoffs or in getting ready for provincial camps coming up.

A bit of news in regards to raising the body checking age in the U.S. from two years to when the player turns 13 has doctor's thinking that the same should be done in Canada. There are arguements in the article both ways. You can read the rest here:

Here is a video on the topic here:

As we discussed in yesterday's blog in regards to the Russell Rams and their two stars, Jayce Hawryluk and 97 born Rylee Zimmer tearing it up at the tournament of champions. John McNeil of the Brandon Sun takes a bit of a closer look here:

The comment section will be closed during that time. The main reason is I will have no way of keeping it moderated in case certain individuals decide to ruin it for others.

Sefair 3 Langley 3

The real first round prospect looked like Ryan Donaldson who was a huge threat every time he took the ice. Tyler Sandhu imhois now a "Top 2 rounder" He hasn't done anything that a first rounder has done all season and continues to put up little to no numbers and isn't even that deadly anymore.

Just came from Roayals Bisons Games 4 -3 Royals in OT Tanner MacMaster left the ice early in the first injured and did not return Royals domminated for 2 periods Point was unreal in the third scoring twice to take lead. Then Royals scored with 3 mins to play and early in OT on a goal by Ryan Graham. Duke was not a factor in this one.

Feb 22 1:48pm....5 goals on 12 shots in the 1st. 1 goal was nice, the others........not pretty

Duke non-factor, but wow the Royals have a lot of players to lean on. Macmaster missing changes a lot for Bisons and certainly hurts them and their chances. Royals proved to be bigger and faster last night. Dont know if I see Bisons winning next game, but should be a most exciting game.

I thought the Bisons were not going to lose a game until the Final series.

anyone know the score in last nights Langley vs Seafair game?

I don't think that one player's playing time had anything to do with Sherwood Park's loss to St Albert. They hadn't scored a goal in the previous 5 games against St Albert. This series was a forgone conlcusion. Just scoring a goal was the win for Sherwood Park.

Leduc 4 Spruce 2 in game 1. Very good game with the exception for the ref. Should be another good game Saturday Night.

Seafair defeated Langley 5-0.Donaldson gave Sandhu vicious cross check from behind as he was going for line change, definitely a attempt to get him out of game early.Sandhu ended up with 1g 2a, looked dangerous all game. Also noticed he played center today. If he is is a 2nd rounder(509) now some team is going to be really happy

too bad abby vs. surrey game 1wasn't close cause the 4-2 game was a great game to watch.

if langley wanted to get him out,o they could win, why would their best player do it, would one of the not as good players do it? Did he get a penalty and what does "509" mean?
