BC Cup and other

The BC Cup got underway yesterday in Kamloops with 10 games.  Some of the highlights were Spencer Meyer who scored 3 goals for the Maple Leafs in a tournament opening 5-4 victory.  The Maple Leafs and Meyer were one of our favorites entering the tournament.  Meyer continues his rapid scoring pace with which he had at the KIBIHT when he had 17 points there.   The Flyers defeated the Predators  in a high scoring 8-5 game.  Top 3 ranked JakeVirtanen had 2 goals and Liam Lawson as well as Mitch Foyle had a pair in this game.  Virtanen will not fall past the top 3 in the draft and is likely the forward in the 96 born class right now.  Finally, a highlight of the day in what I believe are the two top teams in the tournament with the Leafs and the Bruins playing.  The Leafs beat the Bruins 3-2 with both teams having as many as 8 prospects who forsure will be drafted.   Mitchell Walter scored twice for the Bruins which included the winner with a minute left.  Spencer Meyer scored his 4th of the tournament in 2 games.

The Calgary Champions Cup for 97 born players is taking place this weekend.  I will have some information on that later today hopefully.
