January 2, 2012 newsletter is now ready

Stats have been updated for all Saskatchewan, Alberta and Manitoba players up to December 27, 2011.  THE PCACA doesn't produce specific stats, so if any of you have these or would like them included, please forward.  From B.C., we have updated POE, OHA and Seafair stats.
RankingsThe Rankings have been adjusted once again to reflect all the recent tournaments that have been going on through the month of December.  There has been lots of movement at the top with new players entering the first and second rounds, while other players have dropped a bit either due to their play as of late or the simple fact that some players have really turned it on!  Movement on all lists is reflected and updated current to Jan 1, 2012.  Included lists are the Top 200 for 97's, Top 125 for 98 born and the Top 50 western U.S.A prospects who we feel may choose the WHL route.

Interviews
This edition of the newsletter features a conversation I had with one of the top skaters in the draft who plays in a top notch program.  He tells us about his season to date and talks about his Medicine Hat tournament experience in which he was one of the top players.
I speak with a rising B.C. star forward who looks to 2011 WHL first overall selection Jake Virtanen as a huge influence.
Also featured is a conversation with a very well spoken player who is the captain of his AMBHL team and projects as a very reliable WHL forward with leadership.
Lastly, I speak with an player who is torn between the WHL and the U.S. college route and he explains why.
News and Notes/Tournament Re-Cap
The Top 20 power rankings make another appearance and some movement with the top teams has taken place.

The Top 10 western U.S.A teams are updated with a key team on the list to play in the John Reid Memorial Tournament in a couple weeks.

Also is a huge section on all the recent tournaments that have taken place over the xmas holiday season.  Included is in depth re-caps of the Burnaby, Los Angeles and Okanagan tournaments with game re-caps and selected all-star teams from the tournaments.
